Yasmin Van ’tveld (°1989) studied Art History at Ghent University and Contemporary Art Theory at Goldsmiths, University of London. She has garnered experience as an art historian specialising in contemporary arts, having worked for institutions such as Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens and Axel Vervoordt Gallery. In 2018, she transitioned to full-time freelancing, focusing on words – writing, editing, and translating. Since then, she has been crafting exhibition texts and interviews, proofreading (art) books, polishing the writings of others, and translating anything from Dutch to English and vice versa. In 2022-2023, she pursued further studies in literary translation from English to Dutch. She has also been the communications manager of the art collective playField since 2021, of Folio since 2022, and of aifoon since 2024.
Since 2016, she has been the curator and one of the editors at Kluger Hans – a literary magazine actively seeking out emerging writers (poetry, prose, essay), known for its appreciation of visual art and design. Taking on the role of editor-in-chief at Kluger Hans in 2018 further solidified her commitment to the publication.
Alongside her freelancing work, YV’t is a board member of Folio (2021-now) and VONK & Zonen (2023-now), and has been a juror for Dans! Dichter! Dans! since 2022. She has been a member of the feminist writing collective Hyster-x since 2022.
